Terms of Use
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the online study platform at corvanepress.com, provided by Corvane Press. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. The platform
The platform is a free companion to Corvane Press study guides. It offers practice exams, flashcards, an audiobook and related study tools. Access is free for readers of our books. We may add, change or remove features and content over time.
2. Your account
- You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. Keep access to your email secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in to your account.
- Your account is personal. Do not share it or let others use it.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the platform.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
3. Educational use only
All content on the platform is practice material for educational purposes. Case studies are fictional and were written for practice. The content does not replace clinical supervision, professional consultation, legal advice, or the official candidate handbook and policies published by the exam sponsor. Always confirm the current exam format, rules and requirements with the official source.
4. Practice scores and no guarantee
Practice scores, score bands, benchmarks and pacing targets are study tools. They are not official scores and they do not predict your result on any licensing exam. We do not guarantee that using the platform will lead to any particular result, including passing an exam.
5. Acceptable use
When using the platform, you agree not to:
- copy, scrape, download in bulk, sell, publish or redistribute the questions, rationales, flashcards, audio or other content;
- use bots or automated tools to access the platform, or try to bypass its limits or security;
- interfere with the platform or other members' use of it;
- use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
6. Intellectual property
The platform and all of its content, including exams, questions, rationales, flashcards, audio, text, design and software, are owned by Corvane Press or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the platform for your own exam preparation. All other rights are reserved.
7. Trademarks and non-affiliation
NCMHCE® is a registered trademark of the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. (NBCC). Corvane Press is an independent publisher and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NBCC or the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE).
Other names mentioned on the platform may be trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
8. Emails
When you create an account, you agree to receive service emails (such as sign-in codes) and emails from Corvane Press. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each email or in your account settings.
9. Availability
We work to keep the platform available and your progress safe, but the platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may need to interrupt it for maintenance, and we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Corvane Press disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We make reasonable efforts to keep content accurate and current, but professional standards, exam formats and laws change.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Corvane Press will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity or results, arising from your use of the platform. Because the platform is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to fifty US dollars (US$50).
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email. If you keep using the platform after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Corvane Press is established, without regard to conflict of law rules.
