Corvane Press ("Corvane Press," "we," "us") runs the online study platform at corvanepress.com. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
1. What we collect
- Your email address. It is the only personal detail we ask for. We use it to create your account, send your sign-in codes, and, if you agree, send you emails from Corvane Press.
- Your study activity. Your practice exam attempts and answers, flags, highlights and timing, your flashcard reviews and schedule, your audiobook listening position, and your settings (such as theme and text size). We store this so the platform can save your progress and show your results.
- Basic technical data. Like every website, our servers and providers process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We also store your time zone so your daily flashcard review starts at the right time.
We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, payment details or any information about your health or clients.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the platform: sign you in, save your progress, score your practice exams and schedule your flashcards.
- To send emails you need, such as sign-in codes and a welcome email.
- To send occasional emails from Corvane Press, such as study tips and news about our books, if you agreed when you signed up. You can turn these off at any time.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the platform is used so we can improve it.
- To keep the platform secure and comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party advertising networks. To understand overall traffic we use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across websites. Some preferences, such as your theme and text size, are stored in your browser's local storage on your device.
4. Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Vercel hosts the website and provides cookieless analytics.
- Neon provides our database, where account and study data are stored.
- Our email marketing tools receive your email address and consent status when you sign up, so we can send emails you agreed to receive and honor unsubscribe requests.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
5. Email choices
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also turn marketing emails off in your account settings. Sign-in codes are always sent, because you need them to log in.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your email address, your progress and your settings from our database. Backups held by our providers are overwritten on their normal schedule. We may keep limited records where the law requires it.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and row level security so that each member can only access their own data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of certain uses. You can delete your account yourself, and you can contact us at the support address listed on our Contact page for any other request. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
9. Children
The platform is intended for adults preparing for professional licensing exams. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will let you know by email.
11. Contact
